F1 fans scream as they watch Zhou Guanyu car crash towards them at British Grand Prix. F1 drivers George Russell and Zhou Guanyu crashed into each other on the opening lap of the Formula One British Grand Prix. The Chinese driver's car flipped over several times before crashing and it looked like he could be seriously hurt. However, he quickly received attention on the track and his Alfa Romeo team soon confirmed that he was OK. Zhou Guanyu's terrifying British GP crash and how F1 escaped something worse
Formula 1 narrowly avoided disaster on more than one occasion in the opening moments of the British Grand Prix. Not only did Alfa Romeo driver Zhou Guanyu escape unhurt from a terrifying first corner crash, but the resulting red flag saved us from potentially witnessing a tragedy, as it meant protestors that had invaded the track after the start were not encountered by the cars at racing speed.
