The home team West Indies surprised everyone by winning the opening two games and have a great chance now to seal a rare series win against India. It's a do-or-die game for India so expect another intense contest with lot at stakes for both the teams. West Indies have played like a unit in this T20I series been missing from their game for quite a long time now. Nicholas Pooran has been the standout batter while Rovman Powell has also batted well. Windies bat deep and have plenty of match-winners like Kyle Mayers Hetmyer in their arsenal which makes them a dangerous unit. On the bowling front too there are plenty of bowling options and all of them have been pretty disciplined in this series so far. the second T20I with some careless cricket at the backend and that is something they need to be vary of. Expect West Indies to come out all guns blazing again. India on the other hand need their batters to step up. They struggled big time on a slow wicket and apart from Tilak Varma other batters could not show any application. the top order as a whole has not fired and that is a worry for India. We might also see a Yashasvi Jaiswal debut in place of Gill who has played non-stop cricket recently and has struggled in this T20I series. Also it is high time a player of the caliber of Samson joins the party which could go a long way in India putting up a big total on the board. On the bowling front Yuzvendra Chahal has been fantastic to say the least but there is a possibility of Umran Malik of Avesh Khan coming in for Mukesh Kumar. It is a must-win game for this young Indian side and it is a test of character for Hardik Pandya and his boys. Let's see how things pan out. The eternal dilemma with Indian cricket in recent times has been regarding the balance between long-term planning and short-term results. During their ODI World Cup win in 2019 and the T20 title victory in 2022 England showed the benefits of having a vision without compromising on results. It is a template that the Indian team is still far away from cracking as they look to transition towards a phase beyond the Virat Kohli's and Rohit Sharma's. In that aspect the ongoing white-ball leg of the West Indies tour hasn't gone to plan for Hardik Pandya's men. They did win the ODI series but were stretched considerably and have now lost two T20Is in a row against West Indies for the first time since 2016. The fact that this has come at a time when the Caribbean side has been at arguably its lowest in terms of morale and squad strength makes the picture a lot worse for the Indian team. However like with anything there are pros and cons. The results haven't come as yet but India have been able to give game time to the likes of Tilak Varma (who has impressed straightaway) and Sanju Samson (who is yet to come to the party) as viable middle-order options. Mukesh Bishnoi and Ishan Kishan are the others who have gotten opportunities to be in the mix. With the T20 World Cup next year scheduled to be in West Indies and USA. What to expect: Another spin-friendly surface is expected at Guyana with variable bounce also expected to play a part. The forecast for the week is for rain in Guyana and this could be another key factor in the game. Being 2-0 up in the series is a position of strength for the hosts and they're unlikely to tinker with their playing XI. With two losses on the bounce change is inevitable and Jaiswal could finally get a spot in the XI. In such a scenario Samson might the one missing out. So a 74-run stand between Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni revives Lucknow Super Giants from a terrible situation. The visitors have got 176 runs on the board and thanks to some calypso power. Nitish Rana the skipper of the Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and elected to bowl first. It was the two young guns- Harshit Rana and Vaibhav Arora who operated with the new ball. It was Harshit Rana who outsmarted the UP-based Karan Sharma in the third over of the innings. A 41 runs partnership followed between Prerak Mankad and Quinton de Kock for the second wicket with the former playing some crisp shots. But unfortunately for LSG Arora struck after the powerplay and followed it with another wicket in the same over. Stoinis who arrived then departed without disturbing the scorers much. Krunal Pandya and de Kock followed him with the scoreboard displaying 73-5 after 10.1 overs. The spinners operated in the middle phase with Suyash Sharma being the impact sub. The astonishing factor being that Suyash was given to bowl just a solitary over where he conceded 12 runs. The LSG batting came into the act with Nicholas Pooran lighting up the atmosphere at the Eden Gardens. He counter-punched the bowlers of KKR and helped the franchise reach a more than respectable total. Narine went on to remove Badoni at the end of the 18th over with Shardul Thakur bragging two scalps in the penultimate over. With some lusty blows from Krishnappa Gowtham off Andre Russell in the last over LSG ends the tally at 176. KKR will need 177 runs to get a consolation triumph. But here's a thing. Shardul Thakur was introduced into the attack and got the first breakthrough dismissing Janneman Malan for 22 of 42. Temba Bavuma walked out to bat and failed once again he was dismissed by Shardul on 8 after facing 12 deliveries his poor run of form continues. Markram was dismissed on a duck by Kuldeep Yadav At this point South Africa were 3 down with 71 runs on the board. De Kock and Klaasen steadied the ship Ravi Bishnoi who is making his debut was slightly wayward initially allowing the batters to sweep and cut he was bowling a bit too quick on a pitch that was turning square. He made the corrections and got the big wicket of de Kock who was just 2 runs away from his 50 after facing 54 balls. David Miller joined Klaasen in the middle and together they stitched a brilliant partnership and took South Africa past the 200 runs mark. Both got to their respective fifties and changed their gears towards the end smashing bowlers all around the park!! There were a couple of catches dropped by the Indian side which eventually cost them an extra 10-20 runs. Miller finished with an unbeaten 75 of 63 alongside Klaasen who remained not out as well on 74 of 65 South Africa got to 249/4 in their allowed over of 40. Shardul Thakur was the pick of the bowlers for India he finished with 2 for 35 of his 8 overs. Kuldeep and Bishnoi picked up a wicket each Bishnoi was a bit expensive giving away 69 runs of his 8 overs. Siraj and Avesh went wicketless.
