The spotlight will pass over to the GC men and breakaway specialists on stage 7 when the race enters the Lucanian Apennines, a relatively unknown and deceptively difficult mountain range in southern Italy. With three categorised peaks and 4,500m of climbing on the menu, this is the toughest stage of the race so far and one that could catch out a few unsuspecting GC contenders!
