Als Red Bull Racing in Baku weer met de flexibele achtervleugel aan de start verschijnt, dan zal Mercedes officieel in beroep gaan bij de FIA. Toto Wolff vind namelijk dat Red Bull een oneerlijk voordeel overhoudt aan de achtervleugel. Lewis Hamilton gaat niet langer aan de leiding van het kampioenschap in de Formule 1. Doordat Max Verstappen de Grand Prix van Monaco wist te winnen en Hamilton slechts zevende werd, gaat de Nederlander nu aan kop.
