In September 2019, PSSI officially submits the Indonesia bid as the host of the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2021, and Indonesia competed with Peru, Brazil, and three Arab countries (Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates). With the prayers, efforts, supports, and cooperation of all parties especially Indonesian football fans. On 24 October 2019, Indonesia was officially chosen to host the 2021 FIFA U-20 World Cup. It was officially announced by the President of FIFA, Mr. Gianni Infantino in Shanghai, China. But, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event is canceled and will be held in 2023. It is such an honor for PSSI can show how beautiful Indonesia is to the world and get international public trust especially FIFA to become the host country of the 2023 FIFA U-21 World Cup and it’s the first time for Indonesia.
