Canadian sprint star Andre de Grasse won the silver medal in the 200 m and bronze medals in both the 100 m and 4Γ100 m relay at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. De Grasse won the bronze medal in the final in 9.91 seconds, a new personal best, behind Usain Bolt and USA's Justin Gatlin. He became the first male athlete to win a medal for Canada at the 2016 Summer Olympics. De Grasse finished behind Usain Bolt again, in 20.02 seconds to become the first Canadian to win a medal in the 200m since Percy Williams at the 1928 Olympics in Amsterdam.
