Carl Soderberg would then extend the Blackhawks lead to 2-0 on a power play tally, a redirect from a Adam Boqvist shot. Duncan Keith then scored his first of the season unassisted. Alex DeBrincat then extended the lead to 4-0 with a power play goal from Patrick Kane and Adam Boqvist. The Stars would try to fight back in the 3rd period getting goals from Rope Hintz and John Klingberg, but couldn't muster enough to tie the game as Kevin Lankinen shut the door. Kevin Lankinen finished with 28 saves off 30 shots resulting in a .933 save percentage.
