A sluggish start cost Mark Aston’s side dear, as they headed into the changing rooms at half time 21-0 behind. It was a valiant effort in the second period, but the Eagles boss admitted they left themselves too much to do. He said: “We weren’t great in the first half. When you’re playing in big games you need to bring your A game and there were a lot of players who didn’t have their best match. “We left ourselves a lot to do at half time but we had a dig and I’m immensely proud of how we performed in the second half. We got 12 points and I thought it was on and we were going to get there, but it wasn’t to be.”
