Glenn Hoag, Head Coach, Canada: "I’m really happy with the win. The team played solid volleyball. The German team is a really strong team, especially in the serving aspect. They have great players, so for us to beat them it wasn’t an easy match. I didn’t expect any easy match. We can now turn our attention to tomorrow. The Serbian team is crafty so we have to be ready for that." John Gordon Perrin, Captain, Canada: "We figured the match would be close. Germany is a strong team; they have big middle blockers so it’s difficult to spike against them. We stuck with it, we had a bad couple first sets but it was a really good team win so we’re happy." Andrea Giani, Coach, Germany: "Both teams had some highs and lows. In the second set we had a good chance to close the set but we didn’t finish it. We had the possibility to win but we need to close it out. Tomorrow is another game, it’s important to keep the quality we have on the court." Christian Fromm, Captain, Germany: "I’m happy that we fought at the end and came back in the fourth set, but the problem was the second set. We had to close that and it could have been a different match. Canada played well, defended well, but I think we have the team to beat them. We just have to play 100 percent but it didn’t happen for us tonight."
