The PNG Hunters fought back from a 12 point deficit to draw with the Eastern Suburbs Tigers 20-20 in Brisbane. Easts were first to score in the first half through Shane Nueman. Maeli Seve then crossed over again for the Easts to bring the scores to 8-0. Both attempts by Cody Walker to convert the tries were unsuccessful. The Hunters soon hit back through speed star David Loko. Noel Zemming added the extras to put the Hunters right back in the game. Right before half time, Zemming slotted in another 2 points from a penalty to lock the scores at 8-8. In the second half, Easts got away to steal the lead after Walker scored from a kick. Walker then converted his own try. The game looked over when Easts scored again from a good set play to put Jarrod Mcinally over the line. Walker failed to convert but soon added a further two points from a penalty goal to extend the score to 20-8. Straight from the kick off, Hunters stole the ball and in the same play sent Wartovo Puara barging over to score under the posts. Zemming converted the try to put the Hunters back in contention. The Hunters were not done yet when minutes later, a break down the wing caused an overlap to send Garry Lo in to score. Zemming, who was faultless, added the extras to level the scores at 20-20.
