The Oakland A's sure like to talk a lot. When the Mariners roughed up A's starter Cole Irvin for 10 hits in May, Irvin said “A team like that shouldn’t be putting up 10 hits against me or anyone.” Unfortunately for Irvin, the M's chased him from Sunday's game after just 4 innings thanks to a 4 run third inning. A pitcher like that should probably know better. And after Lou Trivino blew the game for Oakland with a walkoff wild pitch on Saturday night, Manager Bob Melvin said "It took an oddity for them to score a run." Which is true. It just sounds salty. This is on brand for Oakland. They think VERY highly of themselves. It's a shame they can't cash those checks. . . . . .
