Stage 3 will see the riders tackle another 2000m+ of climbing, but a lot of this is done in the first 125km. The final 14km between Narni Scalo and Terni are on flat ground, with a left turn at 350m to go taking the riders into a smooth but cobbled street that may witness a sprint finish. The hills inside the first half of the stage might allow a breakaway to build a sufficient lead to contest the finish, otherwise it is likely that there will be a sprinting showdown in Terni.
