Mathews dealt with an ankle injury ahead of Sunday's matchup but was able to play through the issue against Minnesota. Although the Rockets struggled to keep pace with the Timberwolves in the loss, Mathews converted 40 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc to score in double figures for the third time in the last four games.
