In this video, West Virginia vs. Kansas Review 2021 – Mountaineers Are Going Bowling, I will give my thoughts on the West Virginia Mountaineer’s hard fought win over the Kansas Jayhawks in college football. I will provide team stats, key player stats, and discuss some projected bowl opponents for the Mountaineers. West Virginia finishes the season 6-6 and earned bowl eligibility with the win. Quarterback, Jarrett Doege completed 16 out of 21 pass attempts, for 170 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. However, it was the Mountaineer rushing attack that stole the spotlight. Running Back, Leddie Brown, rushed 19 times for 156 yards and a touchdown. His backup, Tony Mathis, also eclipsed the 100 yard mark with 118 yards on 22 carries. For Brown, he reached the 1,000-yard rushing mark on the season for the second straight year. He is one of only 8 running backs in WVU history to accomplish that feat. For Kansas, Quarterback Jalon Daniels completed 22 of 32 passes, for 244 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. Wide Receiver, Luke Grimm had a big day with 4 catches for 105 yards. Kansas finishes the season with a 2-10 record but looked much improved since the start of the season. In their last three games, they pushed both WVU and TCU to the limit and even defeated Texas.
