San Francisco 49ers running back Trenton Cannon was rushed to hospital after taking a nasty hit to the head during the 49ers clash with the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Morning (AEDT). Cannon, who is one of the 49ers’ key special teams players, was running downfield to cover the opening kickoff of the game from Australian punter Mitch Wishnowsky. As Cannon was closing in to make a tackle on Seahawks returner DeeJay Dallas, he collided with teammate Talanoa Hufanga who was attempting to tackle Dallas from the other side. However, Dallas eluded both players and Cannon’s head came into contact with Hufanga’s left thigh, causing his neck to jolt back violently. Cannon remained motionless on the ground immediately after the hit, as the game was brought to a halt while he was tended to by medical staff.
