Regular Season Game 59 of 72: Hunting For The Best Threes

On Sunday, the Los Angeles Clippers blew out the Minnesota Timberwolves by using the best weapon they have at their disposal: three-pointers. The 2020-21 Clippers are on pace to be the single greatest high-volume three-point shooting team in NBA history. In fact, it even goes beyond that. This Clippers team is currently second all-time in three-point percentage for a single season, but the team in first (Charlotte, 1996-97) did so during a season in which the line was moved in. All of this is just a long way of saying you’re watching the best long-distance shooting team we’ve ever seen. The numbers don’t lie on this. But how are they generating these shots? Well, that’s what this video breakdown of Sunday’s game is going to look at. They got them in transition, off of small-small pick-and-rolls, ball movement, attacking mismatches, etc. There’s no one way they’ve done, and that’s what makes it amazing to watch. Enjoy and stay safe!
