Jota and Salah sink Arsenal as Liverpool close in on fourth Diogo Jota scored either side of a Mohamed Salah strike as Liverpool recorded an emphatic victory at Arsenal to boost their prospects of finishing in the top four. The visitors dominated first-half possession without creating much in the way of clear-cut chances. Roberto Firmino curled wide on the half-hour mark before James Milner fired wide of a post from the edge of the penalty area shortly before the break. Arsenal's Cedric Soares, who had earlier replaced the injured Kieran Tierney, tested Alisson just after the hour-mark before another substitute broke the deadlock for Liverpool. Jota headed Trent Alexander-Arnold's pinpoint cross past Bernd Leno just two minutes after his introduction. Now firmly in the groove, Salah doubled the visitors' lead before Jota produced a second from close range to seal the points. Liverpool are up to fifth place with 49 points, two behind fourth-placed Chelsea. Arsenal stay ninth with 42 points from 30 matches. West Brom stun Chelsea to lift hopes of great escape Matheus Pereira and Callum Robinson each scored twice as West Bromwich Albion stunned 10-man Chelsea 5-2 at Stamford Bridge to hand Thomas Tuchel his first Premier League defeat. Chelsea led on 27 minutes when Christian Pulisic converted a rebound from Marcos Alonso’s free-kick. But two minutes later the hosts lost Thiago Silva to a red card for a second booking. West Brom went ahead with two Pereira goals in first-half stoppage time as Chelsea conceded for the first time under Tuchel at home. The visitors extended their lead with another quick-fire double through brilliant goals from Callum Robinson and Mbaye Diagne midway through the second half. Chelsea pulled one back from half-time substitute Mason Mount, but any hopes of a comeback ended when Pereira played in Robinson in stoppage time to seal a fourth win this season that moves West Brom to 21 points in 19th, seven points off safety. Chelsea stay fourth on 51 points, but could be overtaken by West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
