The Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets by a score of 6-5 in a shootout, picking up their 10th win of the season, improving their record to 10-6-4 on the season. Carl Soderberg opened the scoring on the power play with Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat assisting on the marker. Patrick Kane would then pot his 9th of the season and his 398th career NHL goal, Pius Suter and Mattias Janmark assisted on the goal. Cam Atkinson would strike shortly thereafter to get the Blue Jackets on the board. Patrick Laine would strike 48 seconds into the 2nd period to tie the game on the power play. Brandon Hagel would then score his first ever NHL goal to give the Blackhawks a 3-2 lead, Patrick Kane and Carl Soderberg would pick up the assists. Patrick Laine would quickly strike back to re-tie the game at 3 with his 2nd power play goal of the game. Dominik Kubalik would then put the Blackhawks ahead once again with a rocket his 3rd 5 on 5 goal for the season. Assists going to Duncan Keith and Carl Soderberg. Adam Boqvist with give the Blackhawks a 5-3 lead with a rocket shot on the power play. His first of the season. Assists going to Patrick Kane and Dominik Kubalik. Oliver Bjorkstrand would then pot two goals to tie the game at 5.
