Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been sacked by Northampton Town, Sky Sports News understands, after a 2-0 defeat to Peterborough left the club two points adrift of safety in League Two. Hasselbaink took charge of the Cobblers in September with the club bottom of the division without a point and the former Chelsea striker made an immediate impression at Sixfields by guiding the club to back-to-back victories in the league.However, a run of nine games without a victory culminating in the defeat to local rivals Peterborough on Monday has left the club third bottom of League One with just five games remaining in the season.More to follow...
