The Los Angeles Clippers soundly defeated the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night, but the biggest story from the game wasn’t the win or the offensive performance by the Clippers. Rather, it was how the team defended Damian Lillard, one of the premier shooters and scorers in the league. It was truly astounding to watch, and it’s something they’ve succeeded at time and time again. During the pre-game presser, Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue said they were going to blitz Lillard from the outset. And, well, he wasn’t lying. That’s exactly what they did.
