Saginaw Spirit vs London Knights Shocks & Saves Game 2012

A record-breaking crowd of 5,688 fans packed into The Dow Event Center to witness the 5th annual MCVI Shocks & Saves game presented by Biotronik. The Saginaw Spirit would fall to the London Knights by the score of 6-3. Josh Shalla started off the Spirit scoring by netting a goal past Michael Houser. The goal was assisted by Brandon Saad. With 8:30 to go in the first, Max Domi scored the Knights' first goal to tie it up 1-1. His goal was assisted by Greg McKegg and Jared Knight. The score did not stay tied for long, as Josh Shalla scored his second goal of the period. Michael Fine and Brandon Saad assisted his goal. The first period ended with a score of 2-1 Spirit over Knights. Jimmy Lodge increased the Spirit lead to 3-1 by scoring the first goal of the second period. Carlos Amestoy and Dalton Young assisted the shot. Domi then scored another goal for the Knights, again being assisted by McKegg and Knight. With 1:50 left to play in the second, Austin Watson ties up the score 3-3 thanks to an assist from Tommy Hughes and Vladislav Namestnikov. The Knights would take the lead early on in the third period for the first time during the contest. Matt Rupert scored for the Knights, assisted by Chris Tierney and Jared Knight. A minute later, Seth Griffith scored their fifth goal. He was assisted by Colin Martin and Vladislav Namestnikov. Following Griffith's goal, Max Domi scored again for the hat trick. The Knights defeat the Spirit with a score of 6-3.
