When the lottery was held on August 20th, disappointment followed once again for Knicks fans. The Knicks fell from the 6th overall pick to the 8th, instead of rising in the order, and their potential hopes for Anthoy Edwards, Lamelo Ball, James Wiseman, Obi Toppin, etc, got dimmer. The New York Knicks, now selecting 8th overall when the 2020 NBA draft comes along on October 16th, and although it’s not what Knicks fans had hoped for, they still have plenty of talented options. In this video, I break down the 3 players I believe are the most likely options to be available for the New York Knicks, which are Devin Vassell, Tyrese Haliburton and Deni Avidja. Quick Rundown of Each: Devin Vassell: Devin Vassell was a 2 year shooting guard (SG) at Florida State University (FSU). He saw massive improvements this past year in terms of PPG, APG and RPG. Knicks fans can get excited about Devin Vassell, who is extremely athletic and frequently gets on highlight reels. Tyrese Haliburton: Before his wrist injury last season, Tyrese Haliburton was leading Iowa State University to a strong season and possible March Madness birth. Haliburton had more than doubled his previous season’s PPG and is considered one of the best all around point guards (PG) in college basketball. He’s crafty, creates shots and can facilitate offences with high IQ. Deni Avdija: When you talk about an exciting basketball player, you talk about Deni Avdija. Commonly compared to Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks, Deni Avdija is looking to become yet another NBA prodigy from the Euro League.
