2021 Game 10-Salt Lake City Stars vs Westchester Knicks

The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, got a season-high 23 points from Mike Scott, but it was not enough as the Westchester Knicks took a 116-95 victory on Thursday night. Scott was a sparkplug for the Stars offense off the bench. The second-year Stars player matched his NBA G League career-high for scoring in just 28 minutes and added three assists and four rebounds. Dallas Mavericks assignee Josh Green contributed 16 more points off the bench as the second unit scored 51 of the Stars 95 points. Elijah Hughes, a Jazz assignee, led the Salt Lake City starters with 13 points. Westchester was led by Jared Harper’s 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting, while Myles Powell added 20 off the bench. Simi Shittu recorded his sixth double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds. The Knicks overcame just 61% shooting from the free-throw line but made up for it with volume, scoring 24 total points from the stripe to just 13 for the Stars. After falling behind 5-0 out of the gate, the Knicks responded with a 22-4 run to take a lead they would never relinquish. The Stars fought back in the second quarter, cutting the deficit to two points on three occasions and would go to the locker room trailing 55-48 at halftime. Westchester capitalized on the Stars cold shooting in the third quarter to stretch the lead to as much as 24. Led by Scott, the Stars started mounted a comeback attempt, beginning the fourth quarter with a 7-0 run and pulled to within 11 near the halfway point of the fourth before the Knicks pulled away down the stretch. The Stars came into the night leading the NBA G League with 39.5% of their points coming from beyond the arc but made a season-low six 3-pointers on 31 attempts. Yogi Ferrell shot just 1-of-7 and finished with six points to snap a nine-game streak of double-digit scoring.
