St. Louis Blues at Vancouver Canucks - Game 6 (1995 Western Conference Quarterfinal)

The Blues destroy Vancouver by a score of 8-2, to force a deciding Game 7 in their opening round series. Brett Hull and Esa Tikkanen each score twice for St. Louis, and Guy Carbonneau adds a goal and an assist. Pavel Bure scores his fifth goal of the series for the Canucks, and adds an assist to bring his playoff total to ten points. Curtis Joseph gets the win in net for the Blues, while Vancouver starter Kirk McLean is pulled after allowing six goals in the first two periods and is replaced by Kay Whitmore. Once again, mayhem ensues due to the one-sided contest - the teams combine for more than 130 penalty minutes in the game, with the Canucks racking up 90 PIM's in the third period alone, mostly due to Russ Courtnall, Gino Odjick and Tim Hunter all receiving match penalties. Game originally played on May 17, 1995 and broadcast locally on KPLR-11. Intermissions have been removed. NOTE: Longtime Canucks singer Richard Loney performs both the American and Canadian national anthems before the game.
