Shaquille O'Neal Dominates in Game 4 vs. Pistons (36pts, 20reb - 2004 Finals)

June 13, 2004 - The Detroit Pistons' game plan in the 2004 NBA Finals was quite clear: resist the temptation to double-team Shaquille O'Neal in the post and force the rest of the Lakers to carry their share of the load against staunch defensive resistance. The result: Shaquille O'Neal ate, while the rest of the Lakers struggled. In Game 4, O'Neal finished with 36 points and 20 rebounds on 16-of-21 shooting. However, with his teammates connecting on just 17-of-57 field goal attempts (.298 percent shooting), the Lakers fell into a 3-1 series hole with an 88-80 loss. Kobe Bryant, O'Neal's partner in crime in L.A., finished with 20 points but struggled, shooting just 8-of-25 from the field.
