Olympian sprinter Yupun Abeykoon dazzled in Switzerland, becoming the first South Asian sprinter to clock under 10 seconds in the 100m, as he clocked 9.96 seconds and set a new South Asian Record. Competing in the Resisprint International the Italy based sprinter won the 100m final beating Cuban Mena Reynier (9.96) and France’s Meba Michael (10.00). 6 out of the 8 athletes clocked their personal best.
