She is part of the Canadian women's national volleyball team.She participated at the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship, 2018 Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup, and 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women's Challenger Cup. Van Ryk left university to become a professional by signing with Volley Bergamo of the Italian Women's Volleyball League Serie A1 in 2019.[5] She left Volley Bergamo and returned to Canada in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[8] She then joined KS DevelopRes Rzeszów of the Tauron Liga for the 2020–21 season. ____________________________________________________________________ Sylvia Chinelo Nwakalor(born 12 August 1999) is an Italian volleyball player. Sylvia Nwakalor was born in Olginate, Nigeria and is the sister of volleyball player Linda Nwakalor. In the 2014-15 season she was signed by Volleyrò, in Serie B2: with the same club she played, starting the following season in Serie B1; in this period she was part of the Italian youth national team. In the year 2017-18 became part of the federal team of the Club Italy in Serie A2, admitted, in the year 2018-19, the A1 Series; in 2018, he obtained the first invitations in the national team, winning in the same year, the silver medal at the world championship, and, in 2019, the silver one to the XXX Universiade and a bronze medal at the european championship. In the 2019-20 season he joined San Casciano, in Serie A1.
