Kevin Hayes scored the game winning goal in overtime for the Flyers on January 31, 2021 against the New York Islanders. The GWG came on the power play after the Isles’ Matt Barzal took a high sticking penalty. It was Hayes’ fifth tally of the season, tied for a team lead. The OT victory was the second straight of that fashion for Flyers in back to back games against the Islanders. James Van Riemadyk had a nice outing, assisting on each of the Flyers four goals, including three from Joel Farabee, who earned his first career hatty. The Flyers next pair of games with come against the Bruins. Boston beat the Flyers twice already this season, so Philadelphia will be looking to get even starting Wednesday night.
