Northern Pride played Townsville Blackhawks at Cairns Brothers home ground, Stan Williams Park on Saturday night the 7th February. In terribly wet conditions the Blackhawks players and supporters are to be commended for travelling up to Cairns with the threat of road closures on the return trip. This is Townsville Blackhawks first Trial game as they prepare for their inaugural season in the Intrust Super Cup, Queensland's premier Rugby League competition.
