With three category climbs it marks the first big day for riders, with Primoz Roglic, Adam Yates and Mikel Landa all sure to make an appearance and battle it out for the finish. However, an intermediate sprint around the 169th kilometer could see the sprinters hold out before the climbers tackle the Picon Blanco with gradients as steep as 17%!
