Lakers superstar LeBron James left the court vs the Toronto Raptors after his normal rotation in the 4th quarter - not returning to close the game - and was held out of the back to back game vs the Nuggets last night as well. Following the Raptors game, Coach Frank Vogel described the issue as “ankle soreness that is expected” and the next morning Shams also described it as ankle soreness. Woj called the issue a “reaggravation” which was likely due to a lack of medical nuance from sources. So is there anything to be concerned about? LeBron’s ankle soreness is completely expected and part of the reacclimation process, especially since he didn’t complete any practices or 5v5 work prior to jumping into games. That increase in intensity comes with a response and he further said he had soreness in both 2nd halves which makes sense because now you’re dealing with higher stress over time. Coach Vogel again reiterated last night that Bron is day to day and only dealing with soreness with Lakers reporter Mike Trudell explicitly saying there was no setback. This is all part of the process, Bron will continue to get treatment and be day to day with the Lakers managing his workload, esp on back to backs which Coach Vogel said prior to LeBron coming back. The team is telling us everything we need to know, we just have to listen.
