The San Antonio Spurs powered past the short-handed Charlotte Hornets Sunday night 122-110. The Spurs are now 2-0 to start their Rodeo Road Trip. Spurs guard Derrick White finished with a season-high 25 points, while point guard Dejounte Murray led the way with a team-high 26 points. Spurs veteran DeMar DeRozan was the main defensive focus for the Charlotte Hornets during the game. DeRozan attempted just eight shots and finished with only eight points. “They had a lot of attention on him from the jump,” White said of DeRozan. “But he’s a great passer and we used their aggressiveness against them.” Terry Rozier scored 33 points for the Hornets, who played without leading scorer Gordon Hayward because of a sore back. P.J. Washington, Caleb Martin, and Cody Martin sat out due to health and safety protocols.
