The Mississippi State Bulldogs were down 28-3 with 2 minutes and seven seconds left in the second quarter in their game against Auburn. According to ESPN’s Power Index, the Tigers had a 98.1% chance of winning the game. While a lot of teams may have quit being down that large of a margin, Will Rogers refused to give up leading the team on a 10 play 75-yard drive to score right before the half. That sparked a 25 point compact as the Bulldogs scored 40 unanswered points storming back to beat Auburn 43-34. Will Rogers’s final stat-line, 44 of 55 for 415 passing yards and six touchdowns. Rogers set the Mississippi State single-game record for touchdowns and at one point in the game completed a school record of 17 straight passes. So far this season, he has thrown for 3,722 passing yards, 29 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions, and is completing 75.7% of his passes.
