After 23 minutes, Celtic burst to life when David Turnbull fired his side in front. Less than a minute later, Celtic made it two via Edouard following a sublime assist by Scott Brown – the captain sending a long ball from inside his own half in behind the Saints’ defensive line. The Frenchman lost his man with a touch inside, before lofting the ball home with a delicate chip over the goalkeeper. On 79 minutes, Kris Ajer latched onto a neat through-ball from substitute Mikey Johnston down the inside-left channel, before his deflected side-foot found its way up and over the goalkeeper. It was no less than Celtic deserved given their dominance, which substitute Karamoko Dembele added to with his first senior-level goal on 85 minutes. After bursting onto a fine defence-splitting pass from Turnbull, the young winger showed great composure to slip the ball across the keeper and into the net from a tight angle.
