MATCH REACTION: "Well in spells, same old story" | Newcastle Utd 2-1 Southampton | The Ugly Inside

Southampton continue their awful record at St. James' Park with a defeat late on to Newcastle United. Saints played well in spells and took the lead with Danny Ings early in the second half and ensured he scored his fifth Premier League goal in as many games matching a James Beattie record set in 2003. Saints had their chances but failed to put them away. Ultimately, let down once again by an individual defensive/goalkeeping error leading to Newcastle's winner in Fernandez. This was a frustrating result for Ralph Hasenhuttl and would have felt we could have got a result here. Saints remain in the bottom three but are still in touching distance with Aston Villa who lost today. West Ham at home on Saturday becomes another important opportunity. #NUFC #NEWSOU We are excited to inform you we are now an official Fan Partner of FansBet.
