The 8th day of the Abu Dhabi T10 League commenced with the Deccan Gladiators taking on the Maratha Arabians. After the latter opted to field, Pravin Tambe struck in the opening over to get rid of Azam Khan. It was a 64-run stand between Prashant Gupta, who slammed four fours and a couple of sixes en route to his 35 from 16, alongside Yasir Kaleem’s 28 from as many deliveries that recovered the team from the early loss. Sompal Kami, however, dismissed both the batsmen in a space of two deliveries before Anwar Ali smoked a 12-ball 39 to power the Gladiators to 120/4. In response, the frugal spells from Zahoor Khan and Aaron Summers kept Arabians’ quest of momentum unfulfilled, who lost both Abdul Shakoor and Shoaib Malik cheaply. Though skipper Mosaddek Hossain attempted his best, hitting three sixes and as many boundaries in his 21-ball 44, alongside Ishant Malhotra, who got 22 from 18 for himself, the Arabians could only reach 91/3 at the end of their innings, losing the fixture eventually by 29 runs.
