While it features the least climbing of any stage at this year’s race, just 2,200m, stage 5 is far from straightforward with two categorised climbs in the last 25km threatening to cause havoc. Keeping the bunch together over these two late climbs will be tough, which means that we could see some splits and a small group of riders go on to contest the finish in Chaintré.
