For the first time in 2022 Mercedes had a race-winning car at the Brazilian Grand Prix, and almost inevitably Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen wasted little time in adding to their infamous list of collisions. While Hamilton recovered to finish a close second to team-mate George Russell, Verstappen could only make it back to sixth after pitting for a new front wing and later serving a five second penalty for causing the collision.
