Kostoski′s energy leads Kumanovo to a 6th win KK Kumanovo 2009 is one of the first two teams to reach the Second Stage of SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League. That became fact after the team defeated KB Sigal Prishtina 86-68 at home to secure its sixth win of group A. Even if Kumanovo is to lose its last two games the team cannot fall under fourth place. It was also the last game, at least for now, for Aleksandar Kostoski with the team as that brought additional energy and his performance helped his team. For Sigal Prishtina it was a third defeat in five games as next week the team will travel to Tivat to play Teodo. Kumanovo′s next match will be on January 17th away at Kozuv. Kumanovo had a very good start and scored the first 9 points of the game. Then the hosts continued to have a good lead which after ten minutes was 7. Sigal though started clicking in the second period and with 8-2 run to begin it, they closed the gap to just a point. After that both teams exchanged baskets before Kostoski triple gave a 1-point edge to Kumanovo after 20 minutes. The third quarter opened with a triple by Hinds but then the hosts responded with 9-0 run. After it they led by 4-5 points before an 8-0 run gave them their first double digit lead of the game at 11. Sigal tried to stop the momentum but couldn′t do it and another Kostoski triple at the buzzer made the difference 14 points with 30 minutes played. In the last period Sigal tried to come back and cut some of the deficit but in the final minutes Kumanovo had more power and increased the advantage. Aleksandar Kostoski was the top performer for the winners with his 29 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Danilo Mijatovic did well with 18 points and 9 rebounds as Marjan Janeski had 14 and 8. Malcolm Rhett had a very good game for the visitors with 21 points and 15 rebounds as Jabarie Hinds added 15 points.
