VT rode an outstanding defensive effort to a 17-10 upset victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels. Six sacks and 3 interceptions led the Hokies stellar defense. Hokies quarterback Braxton Burmeister threw a touchdown pass and ran for another TD to lead the offense. For the Tar Heels, Sam Howell had a rough night with 3 INTs to 1 touchdown, but wide receiver Josh Downs shone with 8 catches for 123 yards and a touchdown.
