With a 2-1 away win at Bankwest Stadium against and under strength Melbourne Victory side. The game was a very exciting game with both teams attacking in the first half which saw a very open end to end game. With great goal keeping and wasteful chances keeping the scores locked at 0-0 at the half time break. Up step the 5 foot 7 Scott McDonald to get up and above the 6 foot 3 James Donachie to put the Brisbane Roar up 1-0. A second half substitute saw Matthew Riddenton come off the bench and latch his head onto a beautiful cross from the Brisbane Roar’s centurion Corey Brown. A late penalty from Andrew Nabbout saw Melbourne Victory score their first and luckily for the Roar’s case only goal. In what which was a nervy end to the game for Brisbane Roar and their fans. The win see’s the Brisbane Roar claim a spot in the final series with a top two spot still insight. With two tough fixtures coming up with Wellington Phoenix and Sydney FC the Brisbane Roar will need to be on their best game to get the desired 3 points.
