The Malaysian contingent ended their two-day medal drought in the Hangzhou Asian Games after winning two silver and four bronze medals. Wushu star Tan Cheong Min won the silver medal in the women's Nanquan-Nandao after finishing behind China's Chen Huiying while Uzbek Darya Latisheva settled for bronze. Malaysia also won their first Games medal in eSports, after the national team settled for silver in the Arena of Valor event after going down 2-0 in the final to favourites China. National track cyclists delivered two bronze medals from the team sprint event after beating Taiwan. Sailor Asnawi Iqbal Adam brought cheers to the Malaysian camp after delivering the country's first medal (bronze) in Hangzhou. The second bronze came from windsurfer Tengku Nuraini Ezaty Tengku Khairudeen in the RSX:1 S event.
