In their first home game with fans in over 20 months, the UNLV Runnin' Rebels defeated the Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb 64-58 at the Thomas & Mack Center. Bryce Hamilton and Royce Hamm Jr. lead the way for the Rebels. Hamm scored 18 points and added 17 rebounds as well. Hamilton added 22 for the Rebels as they pulled away from the Bulldogs late. It wasn't a pretty shooting performance for the Rebs as they shot only 22-60 from the field and only 2-25 from beyond the arc. However, the Rebel defense forced 16 turnovers and was aggressive all night. Converting on 22 out of 27 free throw attempts, the Runnin' Rebels were able to win their first game of the season, and Kevin Kruger won his first game as a head coach. The Rebels will take on the California Golden Bears, Saturday at the Thomas & Mack Center.
