This is my post-match analysis of the 1st T20 Match Between Pakistan Vs England. So our day did not start well. As we heard in the morning that Hassan Ali was not playing the first T20. It was a big dent in Pakistan's team bowling attack, which is facing a full-strength English team. I was expecting wholesale changes in the new side; especially I was thinking Shadab should be dropped and instead bring Usman Qadir should be in the team. But that was not the case and it really made me questioned Misbah's team selection skills. Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to field. This was a safe choice because the boundary was way short and one really can not be sure how much score is a good score on this flat track. Pakistan, first time in English tour, opened with Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan. Why Pakistan does not do the same in One Day Internationals is beyond me. This opening pair is Pakistan side greatest strength. Opening Partnership made 150 runs in 14.4 overs. Pakistan's middle order could not ask more from their opening pair. This gives them license to express themselves and they just did that. They made close to 80 runs in the last 5 overs. Pakistan posted a daunting 233 runs on the board. However, I felt Pakistan could have done a bit better; I truly thought they could have managed 250 runs on this flat track; also, the boundary was real short and they got a really good start. However, this seems to be our weakness from ever that we do not capitalize on great starts and somehow capitulate and lose initiative. However, at least, we did not do this today. I was a bit disappointed with Sohaib Maqsood getting out on the boundary. We include him in the Pakistan white-ball team as a big hitter. He should not get hold out in 60 meters long boundary. However, after him, Fakhar and Hafeez did the job for Pakistan. This should be Hafeez's new role in the Pakistan white-ball team. He should come lower down the order and play some big shots. Also, he could be handy with the ball as well. Especially against left-handers. He just eats left-hander batsmen; Hafeez's ability reminds me of baseball left-hand specialists who are just in the team to get big one left-hander out in a crucial stage. So let's get back to today's match. 231 runs was always a daunting chase. But England cricket team always gave the opposition a run for their money. Also, Pakistan did not like to win easily; on the way to the win they like to give their fan base heart ace, upset stomach, and diarrhea. Perhaps Pepto Bismol should sponsor the Pakistan cricket team. Liam Livingstone made quick-fire hundred and Jason Roy looked threatening as well. However, England kept losing wickets in regular intervals and that was the reason for their demise. After a whitewash in the ODIs, a series win in T20 could salvage Pakistan's tour of England. In order to do this, they just have to win one out of two games. Good Luck Babar Azam and Team Pakistan.
