The first half of the 2021 college basketball version of the Backyard Brawl between the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Pittsburgh Panthers was exciting. It had some chippiness between players, a sold out crowd in Morgantown, WV and some hard nosed defense. The Mountaineers forced 19 Pitt turnovers in the half for a 36-24 halftime lead. Sean McNeill led all scorers in the first half with 8 points. Mouhamadoue Gueye led Pitt with 6 points in the first half.
