Ilaitia Tuisese Snr thoughts on Fiji Rugby 7s Team to Hamilton Sevens 2019 & Sydney Sevens 2019

Arguably no one knows more about the history of Fijian rugby than Ilaitia Tuisese Senior. As Captain won Fijis first Hong Kong 7s title in 1977. Captained Fiji for many years in 15s Rugby as well as coached. These are his thoughts of the current Fiji Rugby Sevens Team. This interview was recorded on Saturday 26th January at 11AM in Suva, Fiji. This was while Fiji was playing their pool games at the 2019 Hamilton 7s Tournament. Just one of the accomplishments of Ratu Ilaitia Tuisese was being the captain of Fiji Rugby 7s team that won Fijis 1st Hong Kong title in 1977. A list of his major accomplishments would fill many pages. It was an absolute honor to interview this great man. Weren't his insights spot on? The interview was on Saturday at 11AM ... before most of the Fiji games were played. Just imagine, he was Fiji's hard man on the rugby field for decades, coached, ... he has basically done 'everything', is currently in his 70's, goes to work everday, sits on Boards of big companies, drives, much-loved and respected patriarch. Was so nice seeing him kiss and hug his grandchildren & them walking him down the stairs. What an inspiration! I feel that we need to engage with, record and celebrate the lives of people like Ilaitia Tuisese Snr. How many national heroes do we have in Fiji? Not only children, but we all also need these Heroes, who have shown that with hard work, determination, the support of faith and family, all things are possible (Phil 4:13).
