Is the Nets championship run in jeopardy? We should have more answers either today or Monday after James Harden reaggravated his hamstring injury last night in the first game of the second round matchup between the Brooklyn Nets and the Milwaukee Bucks. The Nets still managed to win partly because of a rejuvenated looking Blake Griffin who provided 18 points and 14 rebounds. But it certainly will be more difficult for the Nets to continue to win at the same rate if Harden is out any significant amount of time. After all, it has been Harden that was on the court when both KD and Kyrie were missing in action earlier this season and the Nets looked like they didn't miss a beat as they continued their winning ways. Before Harden would suffer his initial hamstring injury and be sidelined the rest of most of the regular season, he was mentioned among the top 5 players as a MVP candidate, so that should tell you just how valuable he is to the Nets team. Its crazy to be at this point after how the season started with Harden making life difficult on his then team and franchise of the Houston Rockets. I certainly don't support or respect how he handled himself in order to get traded from the Rockets. I believe in player empowerment but Houston had done everything for James during his time with the team. Maybe too much so which could be to blame for Harden's entitled behavior leading him to do anything and everything (some people even think he wore a fat suit under his uniform) to land somewhere else. But no one can deny James Harden's talent. Charles Barkley just recently called him the best 1 on 1 player he has ever seen play in the NBA. Sure, Charles was made fun of by Shaq and company, but it does bring attention to how good James Harden really is. It also makes the fact that he played on a Thunder team with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook early in his career more mind blowing. It felt like everything had came together for Harden to experience post season success and a possible championship until 1 minute into the game last night James came up lame and limping.
