Working on glove saves 👐 - Basics from an angle Important notes when working on this technique 🔑Watch the ball 🔑Be in a balance ready position, pushing off the opposite foot. Make sure you are aligned with the ball 🔑Aim to make contact with the middle part of your glove 🔑Find the ball in front of your body line 🔑Step to the ball with your whole body and not just your glove 🔑Make contact with the ball at the right time – timing 🔑Follow through 🔑Don’t swing If the save is made but the ball is not cleared in the first place, the goalkeeper needs to clear the ball in a quick 2nd action. Mistakes can happen, we as goalkeepers need to try to fix it as fast and efficient as possible. This drill will work for beginners and experience keepers. For beginners, you can reduce the number of balls per set or work on one side (or glove) per set . For experience goalkeepers you can increase the speed, add another skill before having to make a glove save, play all rebounds or even add a 4th ball on each set. Like it? Try it! Enjoy it? Share it!
