The OKC Thunder are headed to the Western Conference Finals after sweeping the Los Angeles Lakers 4-0. As a Lakers fan, I’m not even mad — OKC earned this. Their defense, transition offense, efficiency, and overall team chemistry were elite all series long. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander controlled the game once again, while Chet Holmgren, Alex Caruso, Jarrett McCain, and A.J. Mitchell all stepped up in major moments. The Lakers fought hard behind Rui Hachimura, Austin Reaves, Luka Doncic, and LeBron James, but turnovers and OKC’s fast-break execution proved to be the difference. JJ Redick also deserves credit. Despite the sweep, you can already see his coaching potential and the direction this Lakers team is heading moving forward. Do the Lakers run it back next season? What moves should they make?
