Basketball Drills: Russell Westbrook Downhill Series with Jordan Lawley

In this shooting series, our friend and NBA Skills Trainer Jordan Lawley takes us through 2 ways to use Dr. Dish to work on shooting while attacking downhill. In the first progression, Jordan focuses on shooting off the catch after sprinting downhill. As the pass is made from the Dr. Dish, you want to go meet the ball in air while continuing momentum going forward. From there, plant with a wide base and explode up into the shot. The 2nd progression adds in a dribble exchange while attacking downhill. You'll often see Russell Westbrook utilize this to get defenders retreating and on their heels. Here, we want to push/throw the ball into space while continuing to stay on balance and exploding into a jump shot. These are obviously great drills to work on using a Dr. Dish machine but can also be utilized at home with a rebounder.
